Our story

A local, owner-operated Edinburgh roofer

“Hi, I'm Robert Galloway. I've been roofing since I was 16, which means I've now spent 22 years working on roofs across Edinburgh. Over that time I've gained hands-on experience in every aspect of the trade, from slating and tiling to leadwork, flat roofs and emergency repairs. When you call R Galloway Roofing Services, you're dealing with me directly, someone who has done this job for over two decades and takes pride in doing it properly.”

R Galloway Roofing Services is run by Robert Galloway, a roofer based at Hughes Crescent in Mayfield, Dalkeith, with 22 years of experience in the trade. Over that time he has worked on almost every kind of roof the city has, from stone tenements with natural slate to post-war homes with concrete tiles and modern extensions with flat roofs.

Robert helps homeowners and landlords who want a roof they no longer have to worry about. Whether it is a leak that keeps coming back, slates blown off in a storm or a roof that has simply reached the end of its life, the aim is always the same: find the real cause, fix it properly and leave you with a dry, sound home.

He specialises in roof repairs, traditional slating, leadwork and full re-roofs, and also carries out tiling, felting and flat roofs, emergency repairs, rendering and general roofing work such as ridge repointing, chimney work, gutters, fascias and soffits, moss removal and Velux roof windows (supplied and fitted).

The business covers Edinburgh and its neighbourhoods, including Leith, Portobello, Morningside, Corstorphine, Stockbridge, Colinton, Liberton and South Queensferry.

Mission and standards

Do the job properly, explain it honestly, stand behind it

  • Quality first

The right materials and proper techniques, so repairs last and problems don't come straight back.

  • Honest advice

If a repair will do, Robert says so. He won't push a full re-roof on a roof that doesn't need one.

  • Fixed-price quotes

You get a clear price before any work starts. The price agreed is the price you pay.

  • Owner-operated

The person who quotes your job is the person who does it. No subcontractors you've never met.

  • Fully insured

Public liability and employer's liability insurance are in place on every job.

  • Workmanship guaranteed

Robert offers a workmanship guarantee. He will explain what it covers when he quotes your job.
